Descriptions of the construction progress of my new Florida model railroad featuring the line from Lakeland to Punta Gorda. Originally a journal of RV trips throughout the United States and Canada with Patti and Bob. Also photo documentation of the progress on my Maryland model railroad, the Allegheny and Shenandoah, a mythical class one line connecting Strasburg VA. with Elkins WV.

Local Wildlife

Nav-A-Gator
Nav-A-Gator is a local Punta Gorda attraction that has a tavern and outboard motor museum complete with a stuffed Bison - go figure. They also have a sunken fishing boat in the back yard. Apparently hurricane Charley of 2004 did the deed and since it was an old boat and the owner had no money they decided to just leave it there.
Punta Gorda
Punta Gorda has a wonderful pier complex with dozens of shops and several restaurants that look over the harbor. Its all wonderful... except that the parking is somewhat inadequate. It is reported that these two have been looking for a spot since they were new:)
