Destin Harbor

The inlet at Destin is beautiful but must be hard to navigate. The water appears very shallow in most places. The green roofed building is part of Harbor Walk, a very nice area of shops and restaurants. We've had sunny weather but a little cool. No ice however or sleet or snow:) Tuesday we're off to Mobile. Home of the Alabama.

Destin Florida

We made it here and are safely ensconced in a wonderful condominium RV park 100' from the rather brisk beach and right next to a wide bike/walking path. Weather in the 50's so far but no crowds and many wonderful restaurants and great views of both the bay and the gulf. Scarlet has performed flawlessly. What a pleasure to drive with the air suspension. Compared to Bessy she just floats along:)

Parsons Main St and an overview of the east end

Some under construction shots of Parsons prior to final building positioning, lighting, and ground cover, trees and track ballast.

Some vistas from the railroad and one of the new turntable

Just a few shots of the new scenery on the grades and the yard and engine terminal. I've developed a technique for painting fall colors on the backdrop I call "backdrops for dummies". Its featured here on the grade sections and consists mainly of lots of short stabs with a stiff round brush. Just close your eyes and have at it:)

More Moorefield structures and a millk platform on the main line

Lots of new buildings complete the scenes where the cars are spotted at the industries. The milk local handles milk pick ups the on the main line at various small platforms such as the one in the top photo.

New buildings for Parsons and Moorefield

I've been busy this past season and the structures for Parsons are almost finished. This is Main street and the far end of town complete with the "Bijou" now showing the "Phantom of the Opera". The produce company is in Moorefield and one of my better efforts. Vegis stand complete with watermelons, office, and warehouse are included in this scene.
