Punta Gorda Depot

The restored Punta Gorda Depot is now a museum. This area was once a phosphate mining town but now just us old geezers. Bottom photo show the original colored and white laboratories.

Pine Island and Boca Grande

These are two of the barrier islands that protect Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda from the Gulf. The bottom photo is of Tarpon Lodge, an old Florida inn where you expect FDR or Ernest Hemingway to come down the hall at any moment.

Pottery Farm

This place has billion and billions of brightly painted pots, animals and fountains.

Punta Gorda Rooftop Pub

Post racing fluid replacement center with a fabulous view. That the Peace river the separates Pot Charlotte from Punta Gorda AND separates the colder air form the warmer clime in Punta Gorda.

Soling Racing in Punta Gorda Florida

What a hoot! Had a great day racing with the folks in the Sun Coast Model Boat Sailing Club in Punta Gorda Florida. This was a scoring race that I did rather well in (unlike some others that we won't dwell on here).

The racing consists of six races per day and at the end of the day they award ribbons to the top three boats in each group. I actually one one race which proves the old maxim that occasionally the blind squirrel does actually fine the acorn:) So I wound up third for the day. Very nice, I was pleased.
