Canal Cruise Day 7 - Costa Rica

Ooops, we couldn't get into our berth due to the bad weather. Oh well, one extra day at sea will have to due.

Canal cruise Day 6 - Sub close up

No flag?? Looks modern though.

Canal cruise Day 6 - Canal Railroad

Looks like railroad MOW facilities, track supplies and an old engine house however only one lone crane on the tracks. This area is now between the old locks and the new one just opened for the super size ships so perhaps these tracks are now cut off from the rest of the system.

Canal Cruise Day 4 - Curacao departure

Pontoon bridge over docking channel

Pontoon bridge swings open to allow us to pass.

Next:)

Canal cruise Day 6 - Panama at last!

These are shots of our initial transit of the locks. We had a container ship going opposite us through the canal and were surprised to find a submarine following us.

Canal Cruise Day 4 - Curacao

Boy, these folks know how to live. From the curacao liquor factory to the never ending Heineken supply on the beach it obvious not much work gets done:)

Canal cruise day 3 - Aruba

Aruba is a desert island. Lots of cactus and arid land, but a desalination plant supplies all with potable water.

Canal Cruise Day 1 - Half Moon Cay

A partly sunny but warm day at an island owned by the cruise line.

We had lobsters by the beach. What a day:)

Canal Cruise Day 0

A panorama of ships. There were many many cruise ships in port. That coupled with the steady stream of freighters makes for a hub of maritime wonderment.
