Descriptions of the construction progress of my new Florida model railroad featuring the line from Lakeland to Punta Gorda. Originally a journal of RV trips throughout the United States and Canada with Patti and Bob. Also photo documentation of the progress on my Maryland model railroad, the Allegheny and Shenandoah, a mythical class one line connecting Strasburg VA. with Elkins WV.

Corvette day at the races
The featured car for race weekend was the CORVETTE! Imagine that! Billions and billions of em.
We had our favorite spot, under a red maple in turn 1 with a panoramic view of the corner. Great car watching!
In the afternoon there were a parades of cars down a very crowded main street. The vet parade was 110 cars big:)

Kennebunkport
Kennebunkport is a VERY crowded place. The river is narrow and rocky leaving scant room for the marinas.
Goat Island Light
Goat Island separates cape porpoise harbor from the ocean. This shot was taken from the LABHSTA pier. Cape porpoise is the far north end of Kennebunkport, summer home of Bush senior. His estate is right around the corner from here.
LAHBSTA
A trip to Maine would not be complete without LAHBSTA (phonetic spelling:). This is the ramp lobster pier where the watermen sell their catch at the end of the day. It also holds a wonderful seafood house with lahbstas of any size you want, we ate two smallish ones. As you can see it was a beautiful day with a picturesque sky.
Wells Beach
Wells Beach is an almost totally commercial free community just off the coast of Maine separated from the the coast by a 1 mile wide marsh. A careful look at the beach reveals rocks both on the beach and in the water!
