We are contemplating a replacement for Bessy. She s located in AK at Camping World. 39' diesel complete with EVERYTHING:) Things are looking faorable for a deal right now. I guess we're gonna need a new map!!!

Santa Rosa Beach

We came up here on Tuesday and depart tomorrow for Huntsville to see the grand babies play with the train we bought them for Christmas. These shots were taken from the Destin inlet which has obviously gone to the dogs. Have you ever noticed how upset the sailboat rental people become when you leave their boats on a sand bar? I thought it made kind of a nice spot for an ad. Just run a banner with your phone number on it up the mast and you are good to go:)

These are a couple of Patti's shots. The birds are wonderful. These white storks are everywhere. This guy on his Hobie Cat is having trouble getting it to go but he's looking fine while he's going nowhere:)

A taste of Cuba

We went to the Columbia restaurant in Ybor. Established in 1905 after some Cuban revolution or another. Located in the Cigar district of Tampa. Spectacular food. Thanks Pete for the heads up. The storm tide has rolled in in front of the rig and the beach has disappeared. I'm not saying the weather has been crappy and cold and rainy and windy, I'm just sayin'. But... this is the last of 76 freight cars I have built since we got here. I've also managed to bike about 35 miles and we've used the canoe several times so we're managing to aviod the rain and get some outside time but the temps have been hovering about 55 so lounging outside is a little rough.

Fort Desoto

This is old Bessie safely nestled into her spot with all our toys spread out for use. We'll be here until the 5th. Also a shot of one of the lagoons off Mullet Key Bayou (the water in front of our rig where one of the photos was taken is the bayou). The local homeless person afloat by the bridge over Mullet Key Bayou in his custom camper pontoon boat neatly painted with the local sescape complete with palm trees never seems to abandon his post.

Watermen of Cedar Key

This is an unusual type of work boat. The outboard is in the front near the wheel and the back is open. Apparently it is used to dredge for oysters. The netting piled up inside is quite strong and is towed behind the boats to capture their prey:)

Beautiful downtown Cedar Key

The seaside section of Cedar Key. This area is one way street on a semi-circular pier that has most of the tourist attractions on it. Small restaurants and gifty shops and the obligatory realtor. All very weathered looking and UNHEATED. Some actually accept VISA.
