We were here 15 years ago and were treated to a herd of elk sunbathing on the lawn. LOTS of signs of recent elk prescence piled up on the lawn, street, sidewalk, well... you get the idea. But no elk. Most formations are devoid of flowing water and have dried out like the white stairs above. So far on this trip we have seen one moose, two bighorn sheep, several eagles, too many deer to count, lots of seals, many otters, and just these two elk having a minor spat.
