The ROCK

The volcanic rock that guards the entrance to Morro Bay is the 7th of the seven sisters that flow up the coast from San Louis Obispo. It is home to 250 species of birds partly because climbing on the rock is prohibited. The fuzzy image at the bottom is a Peregrine Falcon fledgling almost at the very top of the rock. It's hard to see in these images but the channel goes from right to left just behind the spit and in front of the rock in the top picture.
