Descriptions of the construction progress of my new Florida model railroad featuring the line from Lakeland to Punta Gorda. Originally a journal of RV trips throughout the United States and Canada with Patti and Bob. Also photo documentation of the progress on my Maryland model railroad, the Allegheny and Shenandoah, a mythical class one line connecting Strasburg VA. with Elkins WV.

Status after Four Weeks on the Road
We've been on the road for 4 weeks, seen 6 national parks, traveled over 4000 miles and have 10 and 1/2 weeks to go. While we have completed 40 % of the miles we've barely spent 25% of the days. That means we have lots of short travel days to look forward to until we enter Canada in August for the long trip home after the cruise. The equipment is doing great and it seems that every time we go rving for long trips we discover some new previously untapped feature of the rig. This time it was the versatility of the Allison transmission and my ability to select different shift ranges for different jobs; like a lower shift range for those 10%+ WHITE KNUCKLE DESCENTS!!! We have only a week left in Colorado before we begin the Utah, Nevada California portion of the trip. It's been great so far but lots to look forward to.
